Faith A. Tissot MSN, CCRN, PhD candidate

It is an honor, blessing, and a privilege to be a Nursologist, a member of SONEI, and a nursing scientist. I am currently a PhD candidate at Texas Woman’s University in Houston, Texas, and I am active in several professional nursing organizations. My dissertation research reflects a deep personal and professional passion for advocating for equity, equality, and social justice. Using a qualitative hermeneutic phenomenological approach, my dissertation explores the lived experiences of young adults who age out of foster care. My goal is to leverage my research to create meaningful change that improves the lives of this vulnerable population by informing nuanced nursing care and contributing to policy and legislative efforts. Faith, family, community, and animal advocacy are central to who I am and to the values that guide my life. These passions inspire my commitment to compassion, advocacy, scholarship, and service in nursing and beyond.
