Paulette Gougeon

I have recently (1 year ago) retired from a long time position (34 years) with a multinational Food Company. I now work as a food industry consultant, with an emphasis on Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Product development. My other interests and activities include painting (water colours, oils) and nurturing the development of my (quite precocious) grandchildren. I have strong opinions about the roles & responsibilities of the food industry, food activists and government helping people living the hectic busy lifestyle of most people in Canada. The Food Industry, government and activist groups all need to step up to the plate together and work to provide products, guidance and information that meet real consumer needs based on sound science. All parties need to avoid attention getting sound bytes based on questionable science that play to the politics of fear.
