Dr. John S. Auerbach serves as a Clinical Psychologist at the Mountain Home Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tennessee. He previously functioned as the Coordinator of the Post-Traumatic Stress Program at the medical center. Among his specializations, Dr. John S. Auerbach focuses on the treatment of veterans afflicted with this disorder. Maintaining a private practice in Johnson City, Tennessee, he also is a Professor at the James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. In addition to these responsibilities, Dr. John S. Auerbach acts as a Research Affiliate at the Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry. Dr. John S. Auerbach graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in Rhode Island, in 1980, majoring in psychology and history. He attended the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he earned his M.A. in Clinical Psychology in 1984 and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1988. From 1984 to 1985, Dr. John S. Auerbach interned at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Haven, Connecticut. After earning his Ph.D., Dr. John S. Auerbach was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Clinical Psychology at the Fairfield Hills State Hospital in Connecticut in 1988. Additionally, Dr. John S. Auerbach worked as Assistant Director of Counseling at the University of New Haven in West Haven, Connecticut, from 1988 to 1991. From 1991 to 1995, Dr. John S. Auerbach served as the Director of the Day Hospital at the Bronx James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he also worked as a Clinical Psychologist. He became an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York in 1992. Dr. John S. Auerbach relocated to Tennessee in 1995.
