Breathing Aloha

A developing community offering learning opportunities in natural building, off grid living, healthy lifestyle options, and making a difference sustainably on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Our intention is to develop a program for those desiring to learn about sustainable building utilizing natural materials found in tropical climates like Bamboo and Guava, that grow fast and are affordable to all. While we're preparing our programs, we are very active in our community through Fair Trade, support of our local farmers and entrepreneurs, and participating in organizations in support of sustainable living being a legal option of building for all. In today's financial climate, affordable housing really doesn't exist anywhere, unless you build it yourself and have the means to procure your land privately. This can be done, and has been done by many and our community is doing this as well. Anyone can learn how and successfully do it themselves, no matter what age, gender or social or financial status. All it takes is a dream, desire, and courage to do something different to make it reality.
