COMM 120: Laws on Communication and Media Course: - BA Journalism Favorite book/novel: - I am in love with The Great Gatsby (for now) because every time I read it there's always something different about the novel, about its tone and about its conversations that I never noticed in the previous time I have read it. However, the books: One Hundred Years of Solitude, To Kill A Mockingbird, Rant, and Peter Pan are also very dear to my heart. Favorite film: - It would have to be Wait Until Dark, wherein Audrey Hepburn plays a blind woman caught in a web of deceit. I love how even in her condition, she still managed to defend herself smartly, and she refused to be just a damsel in distress, as we now often see in mainstream fictional women. The films: Donnie Darko, Beginners, Kill Your Darlings, The Hobbit Trilogy, and 10 Things I Hate About You are also my favorites. Favorite media practitioner: - I think highly of June Keithley during those four days of EDSA revolution. She kept her calm despite the danger she and her other colleagues faced during those crucial time. I also hold Jessica Soho in high regard, for she has experienced so much in her line of work. That kind of experience brings much wisdom and knowledge, things that I aspire to achieve. Favorite song: - My four favorite songs of all time would be You Are A Tourist by Death Cab For Cutie; Polaris by Jimmy Eat World; Stolen by Dashboard Confessional; and Mister Brightside by The Killers. These three songs have been with me since my primary school days and they have helped me through some tough times. I can listen to them during rainy days or sunny ones; I can sing them in the shower or in the car with all the windows down. I don't think my life would be the same if I had not stumbled upon these songs. Favorite meal: - Sinigang, hands down. This is my favorite because my mother enjoys cooking this the most. She sings when she cooks, and I particularly adore her singing voice. Hobbies: - Reading, Writing, Volunteering, Watching Films/TV Series, looking up articles about dogs in the internet
