My name is Vince Marciano, "Stateside" if you will, and I have developed this site for a number of reasons. One is selfish in that it will give me one site to follow my investments. Being from the States, there are precious few US-based sites to follow the precious metals market and I wanted to capture as many of my favorites on one site. Another reason is to share some information that I gather through the day and share it with you via this blog. In July of 2005 when gold was about to break out of its long-term trading range, I moved 100% of my investments into gold and silver stocks thinking that we were on the verge of a generational bull market in the precious metals. Prior to July 2005, I never owned a gold or silver stock. I guess I'm a youngster compared to most gold bugs. I spend 3-4 hours a day researching the precious metals market and the gold & silver stocks. Although new to the precious metals, my background is in finance as I have a CPA and MBA and put these credentials to good use when researching stocks. The final reason is that following the gold & silver market is exciting. The highs and lows you experience are exhilerating but you can't let emotions rule your investments. To add some fun here, I started the Stateside Gold & Silver "Smackdown" where I will pit two gold or silver stocks that made recent moves in the market with high volume against each other. If you have a favorite gold or silver stock, check in frequently to see if it is part of the day's "Smackdown" competition. The days ahead will be fascinating to follow. Iran, the USD, China, the US Debt, Bernanke, etc and the list goes on and on. Buckle up for the ride of your life.
