As I sat staring at the horizon in a small park in the metropolitan city of Delhi, I knew I had to go beyond it. That’s the challenge I chose for myself and decided I wanted to go global. Globalization is one of the most talked about topics in the world and it is has a good reason for the same. Imagine the progress that we can achieve if we all start thinking more in terms of one world and less in terms of many countries. I, for one, do not think it is too hard to imagine. We see it gradually happening around us every day and I want to be a driver of the concept. Coming from a small town in India, I have followed this dream of mine through the fast lanes of Delhi to the largest city of Spain. My experience (at IE Business School, Spain) in a diverse class of students coming from over 30 nationalities has been enriching and has helped me understand the perspective of so many different cultures. I believe this understanding is exactly what the companies need as they leave the boundaries of their countries and venture out into the un-tested waters of foreign land. With my knowledge and experience, together we will be able to manage the expectations of the consumers and employees and that I believe this is key to a firm’s success in this global world.
