I am now 52 years old (wow---when did THAT happen??) and my life only seems to keep picking up steam! Wink. My "occupation" is to live each day as an empowered optimist. I have very unusual eating habits compared to most (or so I have been told). Does that mean that I eat sushi for breakfast, lunch and dinner? No—although in my fantasy of “things that I will do when I become a multi-gazillionaire”, my plan DOES include a personal sushi chef (as well as a dachshund rescue resort…but I digress….) Yes, I have been some shape or form of a pescetarian/vegetarian since I was 16 years old. I know…some would tell me to relax and “live a little”, but I prefer to eat yummy, wonderful HEALTHY food and LIVE A LOT! I love working out at the gym and I thrive on physical exercise. I work myself into a “moisturous glow” at least 4-5 times a week for a couple of hours at a time. I also scare myself half to death by tackling the technical mountain bike trails on the weekends. Absurdly enough, I complete these rooty, nasty, skinny, treacherous trails fraught with SUPER STEEEEEEEP drops that evoke such cries of terror that no amount of top shelf botox could conceal those wrinkles and somehow believe that I have had “a blast” in the process. Although it is not my source of income, my lifelong passion has been the quest for happiness. I have spent decades looking under rocks and beyond rainbows. One day, I woke up and discovered that perhaps (at least for me) maybe happiness isn’t a destination. It’s an “occupation”. It’s the entire list of ingredients as well as the fully iced cake (so yes, it is important that you have your cake and eat it too—at least in my kitchen). I’m not a huge fan of the challenges along the path, but when the tantrums subside, I usually find that the “naughty elves of the Universe” have managed to show me a window when I thought that the only opening was a door. My favorite pastime has been basking in 25 years of motherdom. Three wonderful phenoms call me mom and shower me with their greatness on an “oh-my-gosh-can-this-be-real” basis. They have taught me more about life and about myself than a lifetime of awe-inspiring gurus. And as my kiddies have grown, I have expanded my passion for motherdom to three furry fellows who like to pretend that they will someday find their way onto America’s Got Talent and find fame and fortune as Un Canne Cantante (The Canine Tenors). I have an amazing man in my life who quickly made me rejoice that “Fate” hadn’t delivered “the Man of My Dreams”—because this REAL man was infinitely better than anything my brain could have imagined. I have a Mother who also moonlights as the Fairy Grandmother. I have a Father who has taught me that it’s never too late to mend fences. And I fortunately have a sense of joy that I appreciate and hold dear as I dance my way across this lovely planet. I believe that we are destined for greatness on this little globe. I believe in the beauty and power of humanity—and oh yes, I believe in the freedom to invent one’s own words. My favorite personal word? “Ener-joy”…. The perfect verbal cocktail of energy and joy that happens (no coincidence) to sound like the spiritual elixir known as “inner joy”. So thanks for being part of my blog world and thanks mostly for playing with me on this stunningly delicious planet in this absolutely perfect moment in all time…. Hugs and joyous living...From my fairy wings to yours, Tinkerbell
